Sony Xperia Z1 Specifications Review
Sony Xperia Z1 looks quite attractive with the all-glass design and aluminum frame. It really reflects the state of a premium device. It has good construction that enables you to hold it comfortably despite its huge size. The true excitement will start from its beautiful 5.0” Triluminos display that has a high resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (441 ppi pixel density). The X-Reality Engine helps to improve the quality of the display and make sure that you can get the best viewing experience. Images and HD videos look awesome on it. The viewing angles are also great. The capacitive touchscreen is very responsive so you can navigate through menus smoothly. It’s even better with the support of Multitouch feature (up to 10 fingers). The shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass will protect the screen from serious damage. There are also standard features like Accelerometer, Gyroscope, and Proximity sensor.
Another interesting thing is that the phone is dust proof and water resistant. According to the manufacturer, it can be submerged up to 1.5 meter for 30 minutes and still working well. However there’s special note: the phone could not handle salt water, liquid chemicals, or sand/mud. The Z1 uses Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system. A powerful quad-core 2.2 GHz Krait 400 processor, along with Adreno 330 GPU and 2 GB of RAM, will be responsible for its performance. You can expect monstrous speed from this phone. Everything works pretty well and smoothly. There’s no complain when launching apps or executing other tasks. 4G LTE support is another advantage that you can get. 16 GB of internal storage is available to accommodate your multimedia files. You can even expand the capacity by using external memory card (up to 64 GB). The connectivity features are quite complet. The phone provides Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot; DLNA; Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP; microUSB v2.0 (MHL), USB On-the-go; and NFC.
Not enough excitements? The Z1 also boasts a brilliant 20.7 MP rear camera which is equipped with various features like autofocus, LED flash, 1/2.3” sensor size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, image stabilization, HDR, panorama, and video recording capability with video stabilization (up to 1080p@30fps). You can even take photos underwater, thanks to the water proof design. But when you do that don’t forget to close all the covers of the micro USB port, the micro SIM slot and the memory card slot. A front-facing 2 MP camera is a very good extra as you can use it to make video call or take self-portraits.
Other features that you can find in this phone are GPS with A-GPS support and GLONASS; Stereo FM radio with RDS; Voice memo; Voice dial; Digital compass; Email; Instant Messaging; Push Email; Document viewer; HTML5; ANT+ support; SNS integration; TV-out (via MHL A/V link); Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic; MP4/H.263/H.264 player; MP3/eAAC+/WAV/Flac player; Photo viewer/editor; Predictive text input; and more.
